Days 32 – 34
Fonfria to Samos The day was supossed to be a wet and rainy one, but after the morning wind and rain going down the mountain, it cleared up with another rainbow and nice hiking weather to Samos. The woods were a welcome sight. Reminded me a lot of driving through Fairview and some parts, Pink…

Days 25 – 31
Leon to Villar de Mazarife Most of the day went to coordinating and checking in with friends and family back home — Which all were safe and sound. The day was somewhat uneventful, I hiked through some new meseta like landscapes, but it mainly remained flat. The Albergue bar lead to some new friends, and…

Days 21 – 24
Terridillos to Bercianos Del Camino This was a good day for a hike, somewhat overcast, temperature steady and cool, with the sun shining. Passed a cool hobbit hut like structure in the morning, and I ran into camino friends Kevin and Carol from Texas at the coffee shop nextdoor — both absolutely lovely folks who…

Days 17 – 20 of hiking
Hornillos Del Camino to Castrojerez The second day of hiking in the meseta, the scenery was a little bland, but still very beautiful. I met and walked with Joe and Bunny from Florida, a brother sister duo. Joe was retired IT and IT leadership, and Bunny was a medical technician. Joe and I nerded out…

Days 9-13 of the Hike
I write this from Burgos, in a hotel called Los Vegas. For a 13.5 Euro dinner they give you 3 courses and a whole bottle of wine. A pretty good deal in my book! Los Acros to Logrono ~17.2mi While this hike is called the ‘knee breaker’ in some camino circles, it felt like a…

Days 7-8 of Hiking
Estella to Los Acros ~13.3mi Started walking around 8:30 AM and finished up around 1:45 PM, a nice walk, temperature was warm but not hot, and it was semi-cloudy throughout the day. Passed a cool blacksmith and the famous wine fountain early in the morning, was a tad odd to drink wine at 9 in…

Days 3-6 of Hiking
I sit writing this in a park outside of Estella, took a rest day just outside of the city with my Hungarian friend Daniel. Zubiri to Pamplona was a very wet and cold day, but beautiful country. Walked most of the day in the rain, stopped about halfway but the trails were muddy. Some trails…

Day 1 + 2 of Hiking
Hiked SJPP to Roncesvalles (25km/~16mi, ~1,000m/~3,600ft climb) on Day 1; mostly uphill, rained the whole time, and hovered around 50-60 degrees. Once the rain broke and a nice view was to be seen, but most of the hike was wet, foggy, and cold. A great day, met new friends Ann-Grace and David (pictured), as well…

Leaving Hendersonville
Currently sitting in CLT waiting for the flight to Paris; had a great morning with family and loved ones; Jeremy now knows when to take the trash out. The Adventure begins!
