Days 7-8 of Hiking

Estella to Los Acros ~13.3mi

Started walking around 8:30 AM and finished up around 1:45 PM, a nice walk, temperature was warm but not hot, and it was semi-cloudy throughout the day. Passed a cool blacksmith and the famous wine fountain early in the morning, was a tad odd to drink wine at 9 in the morning, but tradition dictated the need. Walked with Daniel for a good portion, and started to walk with a women named Juliana from Washington State. Her son was around my age, so we got along great. Lots of great mountain views, it has been very interesting to see the environments and biomes change as I hike. Fortunately still no blisters; and a food truck in the middle of the trail led to new friends and a nice cold drink. Met some ladies from Vancouver, and a gentlemen who sells CNCs & lathes out of Charlotte. Talked about wood turning for a bit. Spanish time got to us today, we were starving but with siesta, nothing was open. Dinner didn’t open until 7 PM, and most shops too. Our Air BNB host does entrepreneurial and microfinance consulting in Eastern Europe and north Africa. Was great to talk with her!

Los Acros to Logrono

This was a longer walk, around 17.2 mi, but it was not difficult. First part of the day was quiet, walked into the town of Torres Del Rio and stopped for coffee/breakfast. Met the Vancouver ladies again, and a guy named Johann. Originally from Germany, he’s been in the US since he was 18. Now he’s a CFP near silicon valley. We walked and talked together for the rest of the day, and he’s doing a timelapse of each day with his gopro. I’ll likely make a guest appearance! A donativo in the middle of the trail gave good time for snacks and a bananna. Met two lovely ladies named Wendy and Barbara, we walked into Logrono together. Ate dinner with a couple from California, Inez and her husband. Went for a last min night stroll and bumped into some wine importers and distributors from the US, they were in town to meet with a Spanish wine client. They invited me right in, we shared a drink, and I learned a bit about the wine industry.
