Hiked SJPP to Roncesvalles (25km/~16mi, ~1,000m/~3,600ft climb) on Day 1; mostly uphill, rained the whole time, and hovered around 50-60 degrees. Once the rain broke and a nice view was to be seen, but most of the hike was wet, foggy, and cold. A great day, met new friends Ann-Grace and David (pictured), as well as Steve from Florida, and Daniel from Hungary. Daniel speaks very little english, Goolge translate is great. Ate two meals, a big steak and a pilgrams meal of pasta and local trout. Met two Germans and Fabio from Siciliy at dinner. The German names were very interesting and pretty, but I cannot remember them. Everything got wet, glasses were useless, but I was lucky to find a note from Jenni hidden in my backpack! Slept like a rock. A good day, better cold than in the full sun.

Day 2 hiked Roncesvalles to Zubiri (~21.6km/~13mi). Mostly downhill with a few sections of steep climbs. Hiked with Frank from the south of the Netherlands all day, a great guy and now friend. Post hike I was able to speak to Jenni briefly, and also grab some beers with an Australian bloke named Adam, and Steve from London, but Irish. Daniel bought beers after Adam and Steve left. Hung out with David and Daniel, Fabio invited me to dinner after I post this. He said lots of Italian food, and 5 liters of wine. Should be a good time! Saw the beginning of a Spanish festival going all week, something about small heads and big bodies, and big heads but small bodies. Also met 2 others from NC, Megan from Charlotte and Elise from Chapel hill. The whole area reminds me of WNC. Just another hike in the mountains!
